Documents

A guide on Coateau answers one question. A document answers a whole decision. Each one below is long-form, numbered, and assembled at render time from the same data modules that power the live quote tool, the tint law lookup, and the dataset pages, so a document can never say something the rest of the site contradicts. Every document has a table of contents, a print-friendly layout, a Markdown download for agents and answer engines, and a visible "what this does not cover" section.

What a document is, versus a guide. A guide (see /guides) is editorial: one question, one answer, written once. A document is structural: it is built to be printed, cited, or handed whole to an LLM, and every figure in it is read live from Coateau's own pricing, warranty and tint-law data rather than typed into the page by hand, so it cannot quietly go stale while the rest of the site updates.

Licence. Every document here is published under CC BY 4.0. Reuse, host, or quote any of it, including commercially, as long as you credit Coateau with a link back to the document it came from.

Figures throughout are catalog estimates computed from Coateau's own pricing engine, plus public data such as manufacturer warranty pages and state statutes. They are never a specific studio's quote and never a Coateau rating of a studio or product.
