The terms that govern using Coateau to request offers, reserve with a deposit, or list a studio.
Who we are
Coateau operates coateau.com, a marketplace that connects vehicle owners (customers) with independent automotive appearance studios for ceramic coating, paint protection film, window tint, vinyl wrap and detailing. Coateau is not a studio and does not perform any work on vehicles.
What Coateau does and does not do
We provide price estimates, forward your request to studios you select, display the offers they send, and collect a reservation deposit when you accept an offer. The studio you choose performs the work, sets the final price, and is responsible for workmanship, scheduling and any warranty on the job.
Estimates shown on Coateau are typical ranges, not a quote. A price becomes binding only when a studio sends an offer and you accept it.
Deposits
When you accept an offer you pay a reservation deposit through Stripe. The deposit is paid to the studio, less a platform fee that Coateau charges the studio, and is applied to the final bill for the job. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy and by the cancellation terms the studio states in its offer.
Studio listings and accounts
Studio listings are built from public business information and may be claimed by the business owner. By claiming a listing you confirm you are authorized to act for that business, that the information you provide is accurate, and that you hold the licenses and insurance required where you operate. Studios agree to honor accepted offers at the stated price and to respond to requests in good faith.
We may remove or suspend any listing or account that misrepresents a business, receives credible complaints, or breaches these terms.
Ratings and reviews
Ratings and review counts on studio profiles come from public sources such as Google and are linked to the source. Coateau does not write, buy or edit reviews. Reviews submitted through Coateau after a completed job are published as received and may be removed if abusive or not about a real job.
Acceptable use
Do not submit fake requests, scrape the site, interfere with other users, or use Coateau for any unlawful purpose. Studios may not contact customers for anything other than the request they were sent.
Liability
Coateau provides the platform as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for the quality, timing or outcome of work performed by a studio, or for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the platform is limited to the platform fee we received on the transaction in question.
