Privacy Policy
What Coateau collects when you request a quote or run a studio, how it is used, and how to reach us about it.
What we collect
When you request offers: your vehicle, the service and coverage you want, your ZIP code or approximate location, your name, your mobile number and your email address. If you tick the consent box, we also record the exact wording you agreed to, the time you agreed, and the IP address you agreed from — that record exists so we can show what you consented to, and we keep it for as long as we may need to evidence it. When you reserve: payment is processed by Stripe and we store only the payment status and reference, never card numbers. When you run a studio: your account email, business details, pricing, and a Stripe Connect account reference. We also collect standard analytics (pages viewed, device type) through Google Analytics.
How we use it
To send your request to the studios you select, to email you a receipt for the request you just made and to notify you when offers arrive, to text you about this request only if you gave consent (you can stop those any time by replying STOP, and we never make consent a condition of buying anything), to process your deposit, to show studios the requests they can respond to, and to improve the site. Studios see your vehicle, service, location and timing before they respond; they see your name and phone number only after you accept their offer.
Who we share it with
The studios you select; Stripe for payments; Supabase for hosting our database; Resend and Twilio for email and SMS delivery; Google for analytics and maps. We do not sell personal information.
Retention and your rights
Requests and offers are kept so studios and customers can refer back to them. You can ask us to delete your request data or your account at any time by emailing privacy@coateau.com. We respond within 30 days. California residents may also request a copy of the information we hold.
Cookies
We use a session cookie for studio login and Google Analytics cookies for aggregate usage statistics. We do not use advertising cookies.
