Refund Policy
How reservation deposits work on Coateau and when they are refunded.
What the deposit is
A reservation deposit holds your slot with the studio you chose and is applied in full to the final price of the job. It is not an extra fee.
When you get it back
Full refund if the studio cancels, cannot perform the job as offered, or does not confirm your appointment within 3 business days of your reservation. Full refund if you cancel more than 48 hours before the confirmed appointment, unless the studio's offer stated a different cancellation window and you accepted it.
When it is kept
If you cancel inside 48 hours of the confirmed appointment or do not show, the studio may keep the deposit to cover reserved bay time and materials, as stated in its offer.
Disputes
If a studio changes the price after you reserve, or the work differs from the accepted offer, email support@coateau.com within 7 days with your request link. We review the offer record and, where the studio did not honor it, refund the deposit.
How refunds are paid
Refunds go back to the original payment method through Stripe, typically within 5 to 10 business days.
